Creating Your First Scorecard

This guide walks you through creating a complete scorecard from scratch.

Before You Start

Make sure you have:

  • Signed in to your Scorecard.biz account
  • Completed organization setup
  • An idea of what metrics you want to track

Step 1: Start Creating

  • From your dashboard, click New Scorecard
  • Select Manual to build from scratch
  • Step 2: Basic Information

    Fill in the scorecard details:

    • Name: Choose a clear, descriptive name (e.g., "Q4 Sales Performance")
    • Description: Explain the purpose of this scorecard
    • Category: Select or create a category for organization
    • Frequency: How often will data be updated?
    - Daily, Weekly, Fortnightly, Monthly, Quarterly, Yearly

    Step 3: Create Sections

    Sections help organize related metrics:

  • Click Add Section
  • Give it a name (e.g., "Revenue", "Pipeline", "Activity")
  • Add a description if helpful
  • Repeat for each section you need
  • Step 4: Add Metrics

    For each section:

  • Click Add Metric
  • Configure the metric:
  • - Name: Clear, specific name

    - Description: What this metric measures

    - Unit: Number, Currency, Percentage, etc.

    - Target: Your goal value

    - Higher is Better: Toggle based on metric type

    - Amber Threshold: Percentage for amber status (e.g., 90%)

    Step 5: Review and Save

  • Review all your sections and metrics
  • Click Create Scorecard
  • You'll be taken to your new scorecard
  • Tips for Success

    • Start simple – you can always add more metrics later
    • Use clear, consistent naming conventions
    • Set realistic targets based on historical data
    • Consider who will be entering data when setting frequency
